Chasing the Monsoons

Yesterday we celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi. It was simply beautiful. The guys next door hosted the murti and managed the aarti and arrangements. My house and Nisarga-Sharvari household hosted the lunch. Food was acquired through potluck. All in all a very good experience.

The aarti was simply great. We had marathi aartis as well as gujarati ones. There was a festive atmosphere and there were about 40 people who showed up for the event. Nupur for once was looking absolutely stunning, and I could not keep my eyes of her. She was wearing a sari the gujarati way and was absolutely stunning.

I was kind of transported back to India for a bit. The food was amazing too. We were also blessed by the presence of a few elders from the local Indian community. It was great. Half of the elders could speak gujarati so I was in for a great time.

Too much happened yesterday. All in all a day of fun and realization. Wish some people were here with me, but that was not to be. Veeru, Mittra, Pinku, Shiv, Koshy, Abi etc.. do you guys remember Illu and such events? Onam also when all of us would go just to grab something to eat at the mallu association? Man wish you guys were here. It would have been great. When are we holding the next reunion?

Missed another person too. :) But life goes on..
