Artists

Passing through my bookstore, saw Calendars for sale and found it interesting to see artists (in their own respect), clubbed right next to each other.

Let's hope for the best

Had an interview with Armedia starting at 10:30 and it went on till about 11:50. I was surprised to find that Aida (who was interviewing me along with another lady) is from Dubai.

The interview itself was pretty enjoyable. Learnt a lot about a consulting company and how things work in small companies (30 odd employees). Its the kind of role I would like to take on, as it gives me the chance to dabble in a lot of areas and see how a business is run, from the inside!

Apart from that, the day has been pretty slow. Am at work and am so tired for some reason!

Song for the moment: The way you make me feel by Micheal Jackson.

Jobs jobs everywhere!

Jobs jobs everywhere, but not a position to fill!

That pretty much seems to sum up the international student job search. Though I do have an interview tomorrow with Armedia (www.armedia.com) and I hope something comes out of it. Going over to a friend's place for an hour's worth of reading, and then getting some sleep (don't want to look zonked out tomorrow).

Song for the moment: Superman (it's not easy) by Five for fighting.

Hip Hop/Rap

Man today I was introduced formally to Hip Hop/Rap music. It all started with my going to the iTunes music store out of the blue to see whats the latest in music. Saw a song by Nelly featuring Christina Aguilera called Tilt your head back. Man what a song!

Long time since I really wanted to move to the groove. Nice beats and even better vocals! Surely going to check out this genre of music which I have so far not come in contact with, not on a level that raises any interest!

Rain

I walk the street,
hoping to get to work.
Little did I know I would meet,
rain on the road at a fork.

I suddenly crave for coffee,
and a loving warm hug.
The rain has an effect on me,
and I go out to grab myself a mug.

Getting wet to the bone,
suddenly it dawns on me.
No one should be alone,
someone to hold your hand there should be.

Feels good walking in the rain,
the smell of wet earth exhilarating my senses.
Helps me drive away the pain,
and frees me from all pretences.

Everyone should walk once in the rain,
it really is a beautiful excercise.
Walk not alone and in vain,
its all about love, to be precise.

Khayyam

Here is something to ponder upon, brought to my notice by my wise friend Som:

yeah ... uski philosophy maine adopt ki thi bahut pehle
to wisely live your life, you don't need to know much
Just remmeber two main rules for the beginning:
You better starve, than eat whatever
And better be alone, than with whoever.
                  - Omar Khayyam

Friendship

It is a bond they share,
which keeps them going.
It tells them you are there,
without them even knowing.

Its about putting out a hand,
whenever you think they might fall.
Its about being that supporting shoulder,
when they think they've lost it all.

It helps them get through the day,
telling them your always around.
And it is upto you to say,
that they bring you joys abound.

Friendship cannot be defined,
by simple words as these.
And it should never be undermined,
as it sets your life at ease.

Ganesh Chaturthi revisited

Went today to the Maharashtra Mandal's Ganesh Chaturthi function. It was pretty good. It was worth the trip, though I was pretty exhausted with the activities from last night.

Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow

Went yesterday with Jaro to see Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (review). It started off slow and moved on to be a very entertaining movie. The concept was pretty good. Kudos to Kerry Conran for making such a daring attempt at a movie. For those of you interested in the inside story, I point you to the Wired article on the movie, Kid Robot and the World of Tomorrow.

B'day blues..

Yesterday night was unforgettable. Around 12, friends showed up. A few moments later, Vardhan and gang (Amalesh, Sudarshan, Manish, Niranjan and Ketan) showed up.

The cake was this awesome chocolate one. I was like yummy! :) Then the problem arose with lighting the candle. No one seemed to have a match! Once that was sorted out, thy started singing the traditional 'Happy B'day to you' song and I blew out the candle and cut the cake. Before I could even put a piece into my mouth, I was whisked off to be given b'day bumps! :(
